New Images 2019 – More than a festival, a new market for XR creators

With its new formula augmented for XR creators, the New Images festival is one of the major events of the beginning of summer. See you in Paris from June 19th to 23rd.

Deadlines for all submissions no later than 15 April 2019 (new deadline) at 11:59pm (GMT) and Friday 3 May 2019 at 11:59 pm (GMT/UTC) for the VR residency program.

New Images 2019 – Industry Days (June, 20-23)

Three days dedicated to talks, feedback and networking events within the XR creative industry, and all new forms of creations.

They will also be launching the XR Financing Market, a new funding and coproduction market dedicated to VR, AR, MR, immersive and interactive projects, which will provide new opportunities for project developers to meet international decision makers, new partners and funding. Find more

New this year: the best work in progress pitched during XR Financing Market will be included in 2019 Kaleidoscope’s Slate Funding. Find more

VR Residency Program with Kaohsiung Film Festival 2019

This residency is open to any creator who has experience on a VR project as a director, producer, screenwriter or equivalent. All VR projects (360, interactive, installations) are eligible.

The projects will be evaluated by a jury made up of Taiwanese and French leading figures from the worlds of XR, cinema and culture. Find more

VR Competition 2019

“The competition is open to all immersive and/or interactive works finalized after 1 May 2018, using VR technology and including some form of storytelling, regardless of genre or format. The selection will be submitted to a jury made up of five international figures from the fields of XR, cinema and culture.” Find more

With a new €15,000 prize money for the VR Competition, New Images is ready to reward the winning creations this year, with a jury of five international figures from the XR, movie and cultural industries. More news to come.
