Downloaded is a light-hearted interactive Sci-Fi film based on the idea that it might be possible to digitize a mind and simulate consciousness with an algorithm. Having built and tested an amateur contraption to do just that, the viewer finds themselves disembodied and trapped in a computer, looking out through the screen at their accomplice, Lisa, in the real world. The experience responds to different levels of engagement, allowing (but not requiring) the viewer to solve puzzles to return them to reality. Based on each viewer’s actions, one of 40 different permutations of the story plays out.
