Extended Reality (XR) refers to technology that combines real and virtual elements so that both can be experienced at the same time. It includes representative forms such as Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Virtual Reality (VR). XR is a superset which includes the entire spectrum from “the complete real” to “the complete virtual” in the reality–virtuality continuum.
We are looking for the latest research and development in XR to be showcased at the SIGGRAPH Asia 2023 XR Program. This includes state-of-the-art solutions for interactive technologies, immersive installations and experiences, storytelling, new approaches for creative expression, novel displays, and collaboration within VR, AR, and MR Environments.
New this year: We are also interested in XR Theater submissions, which are immersive cinematic and storytelling experiences that can be viewed in a VR display theater-like setting. In this case, the focus is on the quality of the content rather than novelty in interactivity or research.
