Join the ART*VR Festival 1st Edition: Submit Your Creative Projects for Prague’s Premier XR Event

XR community will be enlarged for one more significant player on the field. Filmmaker and XR creator Ondřej Moravec decided to establish the new VR festival devoted to creative and innovative art projects. And the home of this event will be the historical city of Prague in the Czech Republic and one of the most prestigious galleries in the region – DOX: Centre of Contemporary Art. The event will take place in the term November 1st – December 3rd.

First festival in Central and Eastern Europe devoted exclusively to XR experiences

Ondrej Moravec is one of the pioneers of the XR creative projects in Central Europe. He is curating VR programs for several festivals in the Czech Republic (Anifilm, Zlin Film Fest, Summer Film School). His first VR project DARKENING was premiered at Venice Film Festival 2022 and only a few months after his second project FRESH MEMORIES: THE LOOK was part of the XR competition at SXSW 2023.

“For me it’s a great opportunity to launch the new festival completely devoted to XR projects. I believe that Prague can become one of the most important XR centers in the world, next to the US, France or Canada. Our goal is to bring as many XR authors as possible to one place and create the melting pot of creativity, art and new technologies. The XR authors have rather limited options to present their works personally at the festivals as they are often on the edge of the interest of the film festivals. Art*VR festival wants to give space to the authors to present their work and let them shine.
