Synopsis
Anokhya, a courtesan trained in the ancient sixty four arts, seeks a forbidden mystical discipline from a reclusive sage. Burdened by hidden pasts, their encounter reshapes their destinies. Set in a mythic world inspired by Indian epics, the piece places the viewer in intimate proximity to Anokhya as she moves through a sensorial Himalayan landscape toward her first fateful meeting with the sage. MAIN CREATOR’S STATEMENT The idea for Anokhya came from my mentor, Mr. A. R. Rahman, when he first told me about a unique order of courtesans who exist somewhere between myth, lore, and history. Through our conversations, that seed grew into a concept that promised a world filled with art, intrigue and mystique. Anokhya sets out to transport the viewer into that world — to create an experience that is at once intimate and boundless. And through it all, to tell a story of two enigmatic characters who come to understand their destiny.
