Synopsis
Nox is a 20-minute interactive VR/MR experience based on artist Rio Nakada’s lived experience of complex PTSD, dissociation, and Alice in Wonderland Syndrome. Rather than explaining these conditions from the outside, the work places participants inside a fragmented psychological landscape where perception, bodily sensation, memory, and identity continuously shift. Using controller-free hand tracking, participants encounter distorted hands, fragmented memories, multiple selves, depersonalization, and a final transition from VR into MR. Combining immersive cinema, interactive art, sound, performance, and real-time technology, Nox explores how deeply subjective states can become perceptible through embodied experience.
