OASIS Immersion and UNIVRSE / XROAM have announced a strategic partnership around the Hybrid Immersive Destination Framework (HIDF), a new approach to immersive venues combining large-scale projection environments with free-roaming VR experiences. Launching from April 2026 at OASIS Immersion Montréal, the collaboration will serve as a first pilot to test an operational framework designed to diversify venue programming, improve audience flow and performance, and open new commercial opportunities across cultural, entertainment, corporate and enterprise markets. More than a technology partnership, HIDF points to a broader shift in the immersive sector: the emergence of hybrid destinations where spatial immersion, interactive virtual worlds and scalable distribution models can operate as part of a unified visitor journey.

Strategic collaboration introduces the Hybrid Immersive Destination Framework (HIDF), bridging large-scale projection environments and free-roaming VR
OASIS Immersion and UNIVRSE / XROAM today announced a strategic partnership to co-develop and pilot
the Hybrid Immersive Destination Framework (HIDF), a new approach to designing and operating
next-generation immersive destinations that combine large-scale projection-based environments with
free-roaming location-based virtual reality (LBVR).

The collaboration brings together OASIS’s expertise in large-scale immersive environments and UNIVRSE /
XROAM’s advanced multi-user LBVR platform to create a new category of hybrid destinations for cultural,
entertainment and enterprise markets.
At the core of the initiative is a seamless model where visitors can move between physical and virtual layers
of immersion as part of a unified journey—or engage with each format independently—offering operators
new ways to diversify programming, optimize venue performance and unlock new revenue opportunities.
As part of the collaboration, selected XROAM free-roaming VR experiences will launch at OASIS Immersion
Montreal beginning in April 2026, serving as the first pilot deployment of the HIDF concept. The pilot will
act as a real-world testbed to validate an operational framework designed for future international scaling,
licensing and strategic partnerships.
“This partnership is about defining a new operating model for immersive destinations,” said Denys Lavigne,
President, Executive Creative Director and Co-Founder / OASIS Immersion.“By combining spatial immersion
and interactive virtual worlds in a cohesive destination model, we believe we can set new standards for
audience engagement and experiential design.”

“Free-roaming VR has reached a point where it can become part of a broader destination strategy,” said Raphael Haddad, Senior Product Manager / XROAM. “Together with OASIS, we are exploring a scalable model that expands what immersive venues can offer creatively, operationally and commercially.”
The partnership is designed to serve both B2C audiences — including intergenerational visitors, school
groups, students and learners — and B2B opportunities, spanning brand, corporate private events and
immersive enterprise experiences.
OASIS and UNIVRSE / XROAM also plan to engage major technology partners in support of the initiative,
with early discussions underway with leading immersive hardware and projection providers.
Over an initial six-month collaboration phase, OASIS and UNIVRSE / XROAM will jointly refine the HIDF
framework, with milestones including the Montreal pilot launch—with further details to be announced
soon—industry presentations, and the publication of a first white paper later in 2026.
The collaboration reflects a shared ambition to establish a new benchmark for hybrid immersive storytelling,
operational excellence and destination innovation.
