New XR Ceremony at Stereopsia 2021: welcome Crystal Owl Awards!

After 9 years of collaboration with the Advanced Imaging Society of Hollywood, Stereopsia has decided to adapt a new international position, focused on Europe and Latin America.

Indeed, on the one hand, Stereopsia launches this year the first edition of Stereopsia LATAM in September, in Santiago de Chile; and on the other hand, Stereopsia is actively working on the launch of the pan-European association XR4Europe supported by the European Commission.

Thus, Stereopsia has decided to create a new Award to celebrate immersive research, innovation and creation, namely the Crystal Owl®. These new Awards in the shape of a great-horned owl, created by the Cristallerie du Val Saint Lambert in Liège (Belgium), symbolize with mystery and elegance the origins of stereoscopy, the scientific discovery that founded the immersive technologies of today and tomorrow. They will be awarded for the first time to the best immersive experiences and technologies produced in Latin America and the Caribbean during the closing night of Stereopsia LATAM, on 24 September. They will then be awarded in Brussels, to the best immersive experiences, technologies and innovations produced in Europe, during the closing night of Stereopsia EUROPE on 10 December.
