SXSW: Digital Rise & VRrOOm present a special XR event for peace in Ukraine

UNITED FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE is a social VR rooftop party celebrating the prolific creativity of Ukrainian electro scene. The event will take place on Friday March 18th at SXSW online festival, hosted on the social VR platform VRChat.

The first VR event to support peace in Ukraine.

UNITED FOR PIECE IN UKRAINE is a call for hope co-organized by SXSW, Digital Rise and VRrOOm. The event features Amazed Theory and M1n0t0r, two emerging DJs from the XR industry in a virtual Rooftop environment designed by pacifist Russian artist S1ntDenis.

Playing back-to-back, Amazed Theory & M1n0t0r will mix a selection of various electronic music genres from Ukrainian artists, producers and collaborations. Some of those artists are now enlisted in the Ukraine Army to defend their country, other became refugees in Poland, war report on social media, or are still sheltered in undergrounds with their families.

A new step forward in the VR industry.

Once again, Virtual Reality proves to be a medium that can bring people together in a same place and at the same time, allowing a worldwide audience to share and support a cause. Shocked by the terrible images of destruction in Ukraine, Digital Rise, VRrOOm wanted to give a message of hope by uniting Ukrainian and Russian artists in a music event. In these war times it is an initiative which finds a particular echo. The international music and culture festival SXSW joins the initiative in its closing week-end events program.

This VR rooftop party brings together a unique international production team of virtual reality events to deliver in less than ten days a full use of the VR medium. VR is more and more used for live performance but on this challenge, Digital Rise and VRrOOm used their knowledge of the medium as an industry tool that can be able to provide a solution at short notice.

Digital Rise and VRrOOm are two producers of immersive content and experiences with a track record of successful creations that blend live performance and virtual reality in unexpected ways. Their goal is to use the arts as a means to make immersive technology a sustainable industry.
