XRMust XR Awards 2021: A Year in Immersive Storytelling

As in 2020, an immersive work takes up a lot of space. THE BOOK OF DISTANCE and GOLIATH: PLAYING WITH REALITY have in common a strong narrative, particularly anchored in the immersive medium, and a subject of extraordinary sensitivity. It is the confirmation that a new medium of expression needs ambition, and a particular language when it comes to creating interaction with the audience.

Far from demeriting, many projects have joined the different podiums of our awards. KUSUNDA, GLIMPSE, MADRID NOIR… but also live, musical or theatrical works such as WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE, WELCOME TO RESPITE or THE METAMOVIE: ALIEN RESCUE demonstrate the rise of the metaverse (keyword) in our creative spaces.

Which works will be online, live, what will be the place of the 360 film in the future: the form of XR creation is still – and fortunately – multiple. We’ll see what 2022 has in store for us, starting with a great selection at Sundance!
